Empowering Voices

We're excited to share some of the training our team have been involved with this year already.

We've been partnering with Speech and Language Therapist Louise Ryves Owner of Mid Cornwall Speech and Language Therapy to enhance our understanding and support of self-advocacy. Louise qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2001 and  was employed by the NHS to work with children and young people up to the age of 18 years. In 2020, Louise left her NHS role after 19 years to start her independent practice.

This collaboration aims to empower individuals with the skills and confidence to express their needs and rights effectively.

Through our training sessions, Louise has been guiding us on techniques and strategies to foster clear communication and self-representation. Our team is learning how to better assist those we work with to find their voices and share their stories.

This initiative is not just a professional development opportunity for our team, but a step towards inclusivity and empowerment within our community. We are eager to integrate these newfound skills into our daily practice and see the positive impact on those we serve.
